#4 Women's Soccer Opens Minnesota Trip with 4-0 Blanking of CSB

The No. 4 ranked Emory University women's soccer team won its third consecutive game to start the season as the Eagles opened its weekend trip to Minnesota with a 4-0 victory against the College of Saint Benedict Sunday afternoon.

The Eagles saw three different players net scores in the win with sophomore Mikayla Camp highlighting the scoring efforts with a two-goal performance. Emory concluded the afternoon leading 28-8 in the shots column and outgained the Bennies 16-5 in shots on goal.

Midway through the first half freshman Sophia Asiain put the Eagles ahead on the scoreboard in the 22nd minute when she ripped a shot to the top left corner for her first career goal.

Camp collected the first tally of her afternoon's brace ten minutes later when she pierced through the CBS defense and finished with a sliding goal for her third of the season. Camp leads all Emory goal scorers with four on the young season and has scored in each of first three games. Classmate Jaymie Frith earned the assist on the play.

The sophomore added to the scoring in the 65th minute when junior Jessica Nastasi found Camp on the right side of the box. After receiving the pass, Camp spun around a defender and poked it over the goalkeeper's body for the score.

Junior Kaitlyn Nimmer scored for the second time this season as she put the final touches on CSB in the 83rd minute. A hard cut around a Bennie defender in a one-on-one opportunity on the right side allowed Nimmer to fire a shot to the upper shelf, drilling the crossbar before crossing the goal line.

Nimmer (7) and Camp (6) combined for half of the Eagles' attempt on the day with Nimmer leading the way with four shots on goal. Senior Sophia Garcia tied a season-high with five saves as she earned her first clean sheet of the season.

Emory is back in action Monday afternoon when they travel to St. Paul to face St. Catherine in a 1:00 PM kickoff.
