The No. 2 ranked Emory University women's soccer team made history Saturday afternoon as this year's version of the Eagles became the first team in program history to start a season with a 10-0 record.
Sophomore Mikayla Camp was the hero on the day as the Eagles staved off the upset-minded Tigers of Sewanee by a 1-0 margin. Camp scored her game-winning marker in the 17th minute of the low-scoring affair.
Emory narrowly outshot the Tigers, 14-13, in the contest and posted a 6-2 edge in shots on goal. Juniors Madison Teng and Kaitlyn Nimmer combined for eight of the team's 14 shots with Teng recorded a team-leading five attempts.
With the Eagles' 10 consecutive victories, the 2025 team becomes only the third team in program history to reach a double-digit winning streak as they join the 1989 and 2022 to accomplish the feat. The Eagles need just two more wins to tie the 1989 team for the longest winning streak in program history.
Next up for Emory will be a meeting against No. 20 Carnegie Mellon in the conference opener. Kickoff from Pittsburgh is scheduled for 1:30 PM on Sunday, October 5.
