The No. 5 ranked Emory University women's soccer team extended its winning streak to seven games on Monday as the Eagles scored a season-high nine goals in a whitewashing of William Peace University at WakeMed Park in Cary, North Carolina.
Nine different Eagles found the back of the net while Emory as a team outshot the Pacers, 44-0, for EU's largest margin of victory in 2025. With the win, the Eagles improve to 7-0 on the season and joins the 2001 and 2007 squads as the only Emory teams to start the season with a seven-game winning streak or longer.
The Eagles' first half featured five tallies including one within the opening moments of the game when junior Madison Teng scored from straight on just 1:41 into the contest with classmate junior Kaitlyn Nimmer assisting on the goal. Ten minutes later, the duo synced up once more, this time with Nimmer finding paydirt and Teng recording the assist.
The Emory offense stayed quiet until another quick burst of scoring occurred shortly after the 30-minute mark when the freshmen combination of Sophia Cho and Tatum Janezich adding to the scoring. Cho picked up her second goal of the season with an assist by sophomore Emory Bozzuti prior to Janezich registering her first career goal with Cho adding the assist.
Leading 4-0, the Eagles tacked on another pair within a short period with Lilyana Laryea scoring an unassisted goal with 46 seconds remaining and junior Zia Tomlin firing home a shot 22 seconds into the second half.
Emory concluded its scoring barrage with three goals spanning eight minutes midway through the second half with Katie Hungness, Amelia Dougherty and Laina Denys each scoring their first goals of the season with Emily Woodall, Samantha Lim and Sophia Asiain notching assists.
The Eagles will return to North Carolina once again next weekend when the team squares off against Lynchburg in Charlotte on Sunday, September 21 at 1:00 PM.
