Emory University graduate students Nikki Boon and Eva Carchidi headlined the selections of the Division III Academic All-America Teams for women's cross country and track & field that were announced Tuesday afternoon by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization via press release.
Boon and Carchidi were among those chosen to the CSC Academic All-America First Team with Boon being bestowed the honor of the Academic All-America Team Member of the Year for Division III. Their selections are the 15th and 16th Academic All-America honorees for Emory University during the 2024-25 athletics calendar – a mark that represents a new single-season record for the department. For its history, a total of 243 Emory student-athletes have now been chosen as Academic All-Americans.

Boon becomes just the seventh Emory Eagle to ever be selected as the Division III Academic All-America Team Member of the Year for their respective sport, joining Andrea Pawliczek (2001, Women's Soccer), Tom Shane (2002, At-Large/Men's Swimming), Kyle Foster (2003, Baseball), Megan Light (2014, Softball), Andrew Wilson (2015 & 2017, At-Large/Men's Swimming) and Taylor Leone (2023, Women's Swimming) in the elite group.
After earning CSC Academic All-America First Team honors during her first season with the Eagles, Boon excelled in her second go-around with the program to garner the prestigious honor. Across her 2024-25 season, Boon captured the first national championships in program history in both the indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon while also securing a First Team All-America nod in the indoor 4x400m relay and was a Second Team All-American in the outdoor long jump. She established a new championship meet record for the indoor pentathlon and set a national DIII record in the outdoor heptathlon while smashing numerous school records in the indoor 60m hurdles, outdoor long jump and 4x100m relay. Boon was tabbed as the USTFCCCA South/Southeast Region Field Performer of the Year for both indoor and outdoor campaigns, earning a combined 11 All-Region honors and claimed three University Athletic Association titles in the indoor and outdoor long jump and javelin events. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in neuroscience while also training to compete at the Women's Decathlon World Championships which will be held next month in Geneva, Ohio. Boon also holds the esteem honor of being Emory's NCAA Woman of the Year nominee for the 2024-25 year.
For Carchidi, her first season with the Eagles proved to be a memorable one which culminated with her national championship in the 400m Dash this past May. The USTFCCCA South/Southeast Region Outdoor Track Performer of the Year was a six-time All-American across the indoor and outdoor seasons including First Team honors in the 400m dash and indoor 4x400m relay. She was a six-time combined All-Region honoree and claimed UAA conference titles in both the indoor and outdoor 200m Dash and outdoor 400m and 4x100m relay. She established program records in the indoor/outdoor 200m, outdoor 400m dash, outdoor 4x100m relay as well as a DIII national record in the outdoor 4x200m relay.
The graduate duo were two of five Eagles to earn CSC Academic All-District honors earlier this summer, joining Kaya Binetti, Dashiel Tao Harris and Audrey Johnson, with select student-athletes proceeding to be placed on the All-America ballot for voting. CSC Academic All-America Teams are nominated and voted on by College Sport Communicators and Sports Information Directors across all Division III institutions.
The CSC Academic All-America team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. To be nominated, student-athletes must be a key member of their respective teams and maintain at least a 3.50 grade point average or higher.
