Four from Women's Tennis Tabbed as ITA All-Americans

Four members of the Emory University women's tennis team earned All-America recognition Thursday afternoon as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its All-America teams for both singles and doubles.

Emily Kantrovitz, Iris Berman and Izzy Antanavicius highlighted the Emory selections as the trio were among the honorees for both singles and doubles while Dakota Fordham joined the group as an All-America selection in doubles.

To be recognized as an ITA All-American in 2024-25 a player must meet one of the following criteria: top 8 seed in the NCAA singles tournament, win one round at the NCAA singles tournament, finish in the Top 20 in the final ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, win ITA Fall Regional Tournament, or win a first-round match at the ITA National Small College Championships (ITA Cup). For doubles, All-American honors are awarded to teams that are a top 4 seed in NCAA doubles tournament, win one round at the NCAA doubles tournament, finish in the Top 10 in the final ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, win the ITA Fall Regional Tournament, or win a first-round match at the ITA National Small College Championships.

Kantrovitz garnered her second consecutive All-America honor in singles following her junior season where she won her second straight ITA South regional title and advanced to the semifinals at the ITA Cup. In the spring, Kantrovitz reached the semifinals in the singles draw at the NCAA Championships and finished the year ranked as the No. 2 singles player in Division III. She was named the University Athletic Association Player of the Year and earned a spot on the All-UAA First Team after going 29-6 overall and was 16-3 at the No. 1 position.

In doubles, Kantrovitz and Fordham were third on the team with 14 wins and finished the year ranked No. 18 in Division III. Their season featured a run to the championship match at both the ITA South Regional and ITA Cup in the fall and were named as one of the alternate teams for the doubles draw at the NCAA Championships. This represents Kantrovitz's third straight All-America nod in doubles and the fourth straight for Fordham and her first as an Eagle.

Antanavicius garnered the first All-America honor of her career following a deep run in the singles bracket at the NCAA Championships. She reached the quarterfinal round after knocking off the tournament's No. 1 overall seed and finished the year with a No. 24 national ranking and an overall record of 18-16. She was a finalist in singles at the ITA South Regional and won a first round match at the ITA Cup in October. For Berman, this also represents her first All-America selection in singles after she finished the year ranked No. 14 nationally with an overall record of 20-5 – the second-most singles wins on the team.

The tandem also earned their first All-America honor in doubles of their careers following their dominant season where they posted an overall record of 22-7 and reached the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championships in May. They ended the year ranked No. 6 nationally.

The Eagles advanced to the national team semifinals at the NCAA Championships and turned in an overall record of 18-6.
