Nikki Boon opened competition at the Emory Thrills in the Hills meet on Thursday afternoon competing in the first four events of the heptathlon.
Boon was the lone competitor for the Eagles on Thursday with just the heptathlon and decathlon going on the first day. She currently sits in first place following the 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200m with a 786 point lead, 3,290 total points.
She started the afternoon with a first place finish in the 100m hurdles running a 14.23, the second best time in program history. She followed with a 1.63m mark in the high jump and a 12.32m distance in the shot put. Boon finished the day running a 24.95 time in the 200m to secure her first place spot.
She will finish the event tomorrow with the long jump, javelin and 800m while the Eagles will open the rest of competition beginning at 9:00 AM.
