Emory University junior guard Jair Knight was one of 25 players recognized over the weekend as D3hoops.com unveiled its 2024-25 All-America teams.
Knight, a Second Team All-Region selection by the organization as well as a First Team All-Region pick by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), was tabbed to the All-America Fifth Team. He becomes the fifth player in Emory men's basketball history to earn All-American status by either organization, joining Tim Garrett (NABC, 1990), Jake Davis (D3hoops.com, 2014), Alex Foster (NABC/D3hoops.com, 2015) and Matthew Schner (NABC/D3hoops.com, 2022).
In addition to his All-America and All-Region acclaim, Knight was lauded on the All-University Athletic Association First Team for the second straight season and was included on each of the Top 100, 50 and 25 Watch Lists for the Bevo Francis Award earlier this year.
Knight's electrifying play led the Eagles to new heights during his junior year. Emory achieved its first-ever No. 1 ranking in program history, won 23 or more games for just the third time in school history and advanced to the Elite Eight for the second time ever and first since 2014.
He finished the season with a career-high 550 points – one of only five Emory players to ever reach that figure in a single season – and was third in the UAA in scoring at 19.0 points per game. Knight established new career highs as well in rebounds (199), assists (64) and steals (58) with his steals total leading all UAA players and ranked 59th in Division III.
