Emory University track and field standout
Nikki Boon competed at the Liberty Kickoff in Lynchburg, Virginia on Thursday morning taking first place in the Group B pentathlon among her Division I competitors.
Boon competed early on Thursday at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex finishing with 3,715 points, the most points coming from the 800m run. She took first in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.02 before recording a height of 1.55m in the high jump.
She then posted distances of 12.39m in the shot put and 5.44m in the long jump before finishing the 800m with a time of 2:24.65, almost 20 seconds ahead of her competitors.
Track and field will be sending a number of student athletes to three more meets this weekend with CrossPlex IceBreaker taking place tomorrow, December 6 in Birmingham, Alabama.
