The Emory University volleyball program saw their historic season come to an end after falling to the Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon in the Elite Eight.
The Eagles finished the season with a 29-3 record, a perfect 7-0 record in regular season conference play, a UAA Title and a trip back to the Elite Eight for the first time since 2019. The Warhawks entered the matchup with a 29-3 record and will face the winner of Johns Hopkins/Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the Final Four on Thursday afternoon.

The Eagles were led by senior
Jessica Majka who notched eight kills on the day for a .214 hitting percentage while senior
Deborah Hong finished the day with a team-leading 19 digs.

Both teams started the first set strong seeing five ties in the first 10 points of the match. The Warhawks later looked to pull away with three straight points for a 10-7 lead while kills from senior
Madison Cail and junior
Kate LaRocco cut into Whitewater's lead 10-8. The Warhawks got a boost on the offense going on an 8-1 run to hold an 18-9 advantage towards the end of the set while the Eagles continued to battle. Cail notched two kills at the end of the set but the Whitewater offense was on fire and took the first set 25-13.

The Warhawks opened the second set with a 4-3 lead before three kills from Majka and LaRocco reclaimed the lead for the Eagles. The lead continued to fluctuate on both sides of the net with Whitewater later holding a slight 10-9 lead but Emory followed with a 5-2 run to tie the match at 15 apiece. Both sides of the net continued scoring into the end of the second set with the Eagles taking a slight 22-21 advantage following a service ace. The set saw two more ties before the Warhawks finished the set with a 25-23 line.

Whitewater started the third set strong with a 7-2 lead forcing the Eagles into their first timeout of the set. Kills from senior
Alana Dawson and attack errors from the Warhawks helped Emory come to a 10-7 deficit halfway through the third set. Whitewater then went on a 11-4 run to hold a 21-11 advantage before the Eagles looked for a comeback towards the end of the set. Majka and Dawson registered three kills for a 23-17 score, but the Warhawks continued their momentum for a 25-19 win in the third set.
