The Emory University volleyball program added another year to the banner winning its 11
th UAA Championship title after defeating the No. 3 seeded WashU Bears on Saturday afternoon.
The No. 1 seeded Eagles faced Rochester in the quarterfinals and Chicago in the semifinals on Friday to reach the semifinals match while the Bears took wins against NYU and Case Western Reserve on day one. The two teams have faced each other 18 times in the UAA title match since the tournament started in 1987 and Emory's win marks the seventh time beating the Bears.

Kate LaRocco finished the UAA season adding 15 more kills her totals while also notching a team-leading nine digs in the match. Fellow junior

Sarah Luong helped the team with 35 combined assists, 22 coming from Rabinowitz.
Emory held WashU to a .231 hitting percentage and registered five service aces in the matchup while the Bears notched six service errors.
Similar to their early matches, the Eagles went toe-to-toe with WashU to open the first set. Both teams went back and forth with kills with the Bears pulling away with a slight 11-9 lead. Emory answered with a 5-2 run to reclaim the lead but the fight continued on both sides of the net with the lead continuing to change. After the Bears took a 23-22 advantage, the Eagles took three straight points thanks to kills from senior
Alana Dawson and LaRocco to take the first set 25-23.
Emory was able to start the second set of the match with another slight 8-7 lead highlighted by kills from senior

Jessica Majka entered the scoring with kills of her own to later tie the set at 10 apiece. WashU continued to battle reclaiming the lead, 15-13, but the Eagles answered with a 7-1 run to hold a 20-16 advantage. Both teams posted five points to end the set clinching the 25-21 win for Emory.
The third set was another battle for the books with the first 12 points of the match seeing four lead changes. WashU was able to hold a slight 7-6 advantage over the Eagles but it didn't last long as Emory answered with four straight points to reclaim a 10-7 lead. The next few points were relatively even on both sides of the net before the Bears scored six straight points for a 16-13 lead followed by four more points from Emory to take back the lead. The end of the set saw another toe-to-toe battle, but the Eagles were able to clinch the UAA title with a 25-22 win in the third set.
The Eagles have clinched an automatic birth to the NCAA Tournament which will begin on Thursday, November 21st. The 2024 Selection Show will take place on Monday, November 18
th where the Eagles will find out where they will be playing the first three rounds.
