The No. 14 ranked Emory women's soccer team (11-3-3) is headed to its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament after securing an at-large bid to the event. The NCAA selection committee awarded Emory for its strong regular season, as the Eagles will host the opening two rounds of the tournament on their home field.
Emory is slated to face the USA South Conference Champion Methodist Monarchs in the first round of the tournament. The Monarchs posted a record of 11-7 this season and secured an automatic bid to the event after cruising to a 7-2 record in conference play and topping Southern Virginia, 2-0, in the championship round of the USA South Tournament. The Eagles and Monarchs are set to meet in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 16
th.
Joining the Eagles and Monarchs in Atlanta will be Maryville (TN) and Pacific Lutheran after winning their respective conferences. Maryville brings an explosive offense which averages over three goals per game, helping boost the Scots to a 13-2-4 record this fall. Pacific Lutheran suffered just one loss this season, posting a 15-1-4 record and are 14-0-1 in their last 15 tilts. The two conference champions will face off at 3:30 PM on Saturday, November 16
th. The winners of both matches will play at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 17
th for a spot in the Sweet 16.
