Emory Volleyball Earns Four-Set Win vs. Case Western Reserve

The Emory volleyball team opened the University Athletic Assoication Round Robin 3 on a successful note Sunday morning, earning a 3-1 decision over host Case Western Reserve. The Eagles raised their overall record to 19-1 (6-0) following a 25-18, 22-25, 25-23, 25-21 verdict over the Spartans who slipped to 7-14 overall, 1-5 in the league.

Emory closed out the match hitting . 244 (62-22—164) compared to the Spartans' .160 (39-18—131). CWRU posted a slight 69-68 advantage in digs and a 4-3 edge in total blocks.

The Empry trio of senior Morgan McKnight, sophomore Tara Martin and junior Leah Saunders accounted for 43 of the team's terminations with McKnight pounding out a season-high 18, hitting .318 (18-4—40) in the process, while Martin rang up 13 successful attack attempts, her ninth double-figure outing of the campaign. Saunders came through with another all-around effort, notching a dozen kills and 12 digs, her fifth double-double of the year. Freshman Cassie Srb doled out a season-high 53 assists and chipped in 11 digs.


No. 1-ranked Emory finishes the Round Robin with a 2:00 pm bout vs. No. 3 Chicago.
