The No. 1-ranked Emory men's tennis team has advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Men's Championships following a Sunday afternoon victory over Trinity University.  The Eagles won their ninth straight match and boosted their overall record to 22-3 following a 5-0 decision over the No. 12-ranked Tigers who closed out their year at 18-10.  Emory served as the host site for this weekend's opening rounds.

Emory emerged with a hard-fought 3-0 lead after an intense doubles competition.  Senior Rafe Mosetick and freshman Jonathan Jemison earned the first point of the match at No. 2 with an 8-5 triumph over Chas Mayer and Clayton Niess, their ninth consecutive win and 19th in 22 decisions on the year. The Eagles' No. 3 team of David Omsky and Andrew Harrington clawed their way to a 9-8 (7-5) victory that pushed Emory to a 2-0 advantage.  At first doubles, sophomore Scott Rubinstein and freshman James Spaulding closed out the sweep, battling to a 9-7 outcome over Paxton Deuel and Matt Tyer, lifting their spring slate to 14-10.

Freshman Adrien Bouchet put Emory one point from sealing the match with a 6-2, 6-4, verdict vs. Tyer at No. 4, raising his record to 22-7 on the year.
