Box Score The No. 6-ranked Emory volleyball team's bid to defend its University Athletic Association Championship title fell short Saturday afternoon as the Eagles came out on the short end against No. 20 Chicago in the title clash. The Maroons raised their overall record to 26-10 following a 3-1 victory (21-25, 28-26, 25-19, 25-21) over the Eagles who slipped to 30-4. Chicago's win represented the first time since 1988 that a team other than Emory or Washington University had won the conference crown.
Chicago turned in a hitting percentage of .237 (66-24—177) compared to the Eagles' .197 (54-20—173), just the fifth time this year than an opponent finished with an edge against Emory in that category. The Maroons held a slim 84-81 advantage in digs and each team recorded eight total blocks.

Sarah Maher was one of four players to record double-figure kills, leading the team with a season-high 12 terminations and turning in an attack percentage of .320 (12-4—25). Junior
Leah Jacobs came through with 11 successful attack attempts, running her streak to six straight contests with double digits in that department. Junior

Jessica Holler each tallied 10 kills with Holler contributing a team-high five (1-4) blocks. Sophomore setter
Sydney Miles dished out 44 assists, upping her total this year to 1,220, good for 13
th place on the school's seasonal list. Miles also chipped in 15 digs and a pair of service aces. Sophomore
Taylor Erwin topped the squad with 22 digs, her 12
th performance of 20 or more this year.
Emory will hear on Monday, Nov. 11, as to what awaits it come NCAA Tournament time. The pairings for the D-III national tournament will be announced at 11:00 am and can be viewed on ncaa.com
