UAA Round Robin I Scoreboard
The No. 4-ranked Emory University volleyball team had its hands full this morning in its University Athletic Association Round Robin I opening match, but rallied to defeat No. 16 Chicago. The Eagles boosted their overall record to 18-1 following an exciting 3-2 win (25-21, 20-25, 18-25, 25-16, 15-8) over the Maroons who fell to 16-2. Serving as the host site of the Round Robin is Washington University.
Senior Amelia McCall keyed the offensive attack with 15 kills with junior Breanah Bourque and senior Jessica McAlvany playing significant roles with 12 and 10 terminations, respectively. Bourque also contributed four block assists while McAlvany doled out four service aces. Senior setter Natalie Schonefeld dished out 45 assists in the match.
Defensively Schonefeld totaled 13 digs and was complemented in that department by sophomore Molly Landers' 10 digs.
Emory continues the Round Robin I later this afternoon with a contest vs. Rochester.
