The No. 3-ranked Emory University volleyball team ran its
winning streak to 12 matches Saturday afternoon as it recorded
a 3-1 win over Covenant College in a contest played at Lee
University in Cleveland, Tenn. The Eagles upped their overall
record to 20-2 following a 22-25, 25-13, 25-11, 25-18 decision over
the Scots who slumped to 6-13.
Resting the majority of her starters, head coach Jenny McDowell saw
freshman Breanah Bourque post a team-high 15 kills to lead the
offensive attack. Senior Kaitlin Westfall chipped in 11
terminations and finished with an outstanding 55.6 hitting
percentage (11-1-18). Freshman Natasha Vlahovic also
enjoyed a fine offensive effort with a season-high nine
kills. Sophomore Brannan O'Neill, coming off a 32-digs
performance the previous evening against Armstrong Atlantic State
University, doled out four service aces and registered nine
digs.
Emory concludes play on Saturday with a 7:00 p.m. battle against
