Graduate student Dawit Dean turned in a monumental race of his own following Carchidi as he was the national runner-up in the 800m Run - representing the best finish ever by an Eagle in the event. Dean notched a 1:50.36 as he used his after burners down the home stretch to try and catch the leader but ultimately ran out of real estate to secure silver.
