Matthew Then joined the Emory University Athletics Department as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in July of 2026.  

Then will assist with graphic design, photography and video and is the primary contact for Volleyball, Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field and Softball.  

A native of Queens, New York, Then comes to Atlanta following a stint at Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA, where he oversaw Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer, Women’s Basketball, Softball, Track and Field. Prior to Juniata, Then was an Athletic Communications Intern at the University of Rochester. He earned his undergraduate degree at SUNY Brockport where he was a student assistant in Athletic Communications as well as a Track and Field athlete.
