Mak Krause joined the Emory University men’s basketball program as an assistant coach in June of 2025.
Krause joins the Eagles following a recent stint as an assistant coach with Nebraska Wesleyan University. Across three seasons with the Prairie Wolves, Krause was responsible for scouting reports, player development, coordinating individual and group workouts, and recruiting.
In three seasons with him on staff, NWU amassed an overall record of 62-22, advanced to the NCAA DIII Elite Eight in 2024, earned two appearances to the championship game of the American Rivers Conference tournament, and were 2024 co-champions of the ARC regular season. He assisted in the development of 10 ARC All-Conference selections as well as Jack Groeteke who was tabbed as the league’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2025.
Prior to his time at Nebraska Wesleyan, Krause spent three seasons with Franklin College from the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. With the Grizzlies, Krause helped the team to an overall record of 41-27, two HCAC tournament titles in 2021 and 2022, while running opponent scouting reports and overseeing player development. He aided in the development of seven HCAC All-Conference selections, five HCAC all-tournament team selections and a pair of HCAC tournament MVPs.
Krause earned a master’s degree in Sport Management in 2019 as well as his bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications in 2017 from the University of Florida. With the Gators, Krause initially served as the team’s head manager, helping with stat analysis, video editing and opponent scouting before he joined the team during the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons as a walk-on and appeared in 13 games. He was a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member at UF and earned a full athletic scholarship in his final season.
