Biography

Senior (2006-07):

Marasigan was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA)All-American for her performance in both singles and doubles playin 2007.  She was the Fall ITA Southern Regional singleschampion, and finished fourth overall at the ITA NationalTournament.  The senior captain also advanced to thechampionship round of the ITA Regional doubles tournament, beforelosing to the top-seeded team.  Marasigan finished the 2007spring season with a 7-15 record in singles play, all in thetop-singles spot, and with a 13-10 record in the top doublesposition.

Junior (2006):

Marasigan earned All-America honors for the first time in hercareer.  She finished 15-12 on the season in singles, mainlycompeting at the No. 1 position.  She finished 5-8 at No. 1singles, 3-2 at No. 2 and 3-0 at No. 3.  She was also 4-1during ITA events in the fall.  Marasigan finished 2-0 in theUAA Championships, defeating UAA Player of the Year Amy Staloch atNo. 1 singles during the title match.  Finished 12-15 duringdoubles play. For her career Marasigan stands 53-27 in singlesplay. Along with Linda Tien, the two finished 3-2 during the NCAAtournament at the No. 1 position. Was named first team All-UAA atthe No. 1 singles position.

Sophomore (2005):

Marasigan, the team's No. 2 singles player, clinched the nationalchampionship point for Emory in the NCAA finals against Washington& Lee (Va.). She was 31st in the final national singlesrankings compiled by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association andninth in the regional singles rankings. Marasigan amassed a 21-9record in singles giving her a two-year total of 38-15. She hadnine singles wins against opponents from schools ranked in the top20 nationally.

Freshman (2004):

The freshman was named to the all-conference first team at No. 4singles and No. 3 doubles. Marasigan had a season record of 17-6 insingles, including 11-5 against opponents from national top-25teams. She was 21-6 in doubles, placing her 25th on the Emoryall-time list for doubles wins in a season. Marasigan was chosenthe team's Rookie of the Year.
