Biography

Sophomore (2006):

Anand finished her sophomore season with a singles record of19-5 and a doubles record of 18-8, earning her All-America honorsfor the first time in her career.  Her 19 singles victoriesmarked the second most on the team for the season.  She was4-0 at No. 3 singles and 12-4 at No. 4, while also finishing 3-1 inITA matches during the fall. Anand's record now stands at 39-7(.847), which currently stands as the fourth best winningpercentage in school history. In doubles play, Anand went 8-3 withCristina Arellano in the No. 2 and 3 positions, including 2-1during the UAA tournament.  The NCAA Championships saw herpair with Jamie Chan to go a perfect 5-0 in helping the team to itsfourth straight national championship. Was named to theall-conference first team for the second straight year for No. foursingles. Also received second team honors for No. 3 doubles.

Freshman (2005):

Anand, a freshman, compiled a 20-2 record in singles. Her .909singles win percentage this season is the third best in schoolhistory (the top two belong to a two-time national singleschampion). Anand was a perfect 11-0 in singles against opponentsfrom teams ranked in the top 20 nationally. Her only singles losseswere to an Emory teammate in the quarterfinals of theIntercollegiate Tennis Association regional championships last falland in three sets to an opponent from Wofford (S.C.), an NCAADivision I scholarship school, this spring. Anand was a perfect 6-0in singles and doubles combined in the last three matches of theNCAA team championship. She clinched the winning team point forEmory in its NCAA semifinal match against Amherst (Mass.). Sheteamed up with Lindsay Tiemeyer for an 8-1 record in doubles. Thepairing was 12th in the final regional doubles rankings compiled bythe ITA. Anand was named to the all-conference first team at No. 6singles and No. 3 doubles.

Highest sectional ranking of top 20 in Midwest girls 18's. Twotime team state champions.
