Biography

Freshman (2005):

Gross, a freshman, competed regularly in the No. 2 doubles spotalong with teammate Serena Burkard, and occasionally at the No. 6singles spot. She and Burkard were seventh in the final regionaldoubles rankings compiled by the Intercollegiate TennisAssociation. Gross had a 23-5 doubles record, good for an .821 winpercentage, 13th best in school history. She had an 8-2 record insingles overall, 4-0 in dual matches. In those four dual matches,Gross did not drop a set and lost only one game combined. Her onlytwo singles losses were to Emory teammates in separate tournamentslast fall.

Highest national ranking of 148 in girls 14's. Highest sectionalranking of 12 in girls 16's. Highest state ranking of 2 in OhioDivision II.

"I decided to play tennis at Emory because academics come beforetennis. Emory is such a great school academically, and there is anice balance playing tennis here, as tennis would come first inmany Division I schools. It is important to have a balance betweentennis and acadamics, and socially as well."
