Biography

Junior (2007-08):

Pasternak earned all-America honors in three events at the 2008NCAA Division III Championships, finishing fifth in the 100-yardbackstroke, seventh in the 200-yard backstroke, and sixth as partof the Eagles' 200-yard medley relay team.  The three honorsin 2008 give her eight all-America honors over her Emory career,including an all-America honor in the 100-yard and 200-yardbackstroke each of her three seasons on the team, putting her inposition to become the first Emory swimmer to earn all-Americahonors in two individual events for four-consecutive years. Pasternak was part of the Eagles' UAA Championship 400-yard medleyrelay team, and earned all-UAA honors in the 200-yard and 400-yardindividual medleys, the 100-yard and 200-yard backstrokes, and aspart of the 200-yard medley relay team.  She recorded the topEmory times in the 100 back, 200 back, and 200 IM during theseason, and recorded three of the top-10 times in school history inthe 200-yard backstroke.  Pasternak's 181 points scored duringthe season was the ninth-best total on the team.

Sophomore (2006-07):

For the second-consecutive year, Pasternak earned all-Americahonors in both the 100- and 200-backstroke, giving her fiveall-America certificates over her career.  She recorded thetop-four Emory times in the 100 backstroke during the season, andthe top-three times in the 200 backstroke.  Pasternak's timeof 2:03.03 in the 200 backstroke at the NCAA Championships set anew school record in the event.  She scored 212.25 in meetsthroughout the season, the seventh-best total by an Eagle.

Freshman (2005-06):

Pasternak, a freshman, earned three All-America certificatesthis season with her second place finish in the 200-yard backstrokecompetition, her third place finish in the 100-yard backstrokecompetition, and her fifth place finish in the 400-yard medleyrelay.  She also received an All-America Honorable Mention inthe 200-yard individual medley.  Pasternak also received thetitle of Conference Champion with her win in the 200-yardbackstroke competition at the conference championships.  Shealso earned another All-Conference honor in the 100-yard backstrokecompetition.  Pasternak was named the Female Rookie of theYear in the University Athletic Association conference.
