2006-07 Women's Swimming and Diving
Biography
Senior (2006-07):
Nicholson earned all-America honors as part of the school-recordsetting 200-freestyle and 400-freestyle relay teams. Thesenior finished her Emory career with seven all-Americacertificates, tying her for the 13th-best total in schoolhistory. She also earned an all-America honorable mention forher performance in the 100 freestyle. Nicholson was part ofthe University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship200-freestyle relay team and earned all-UAA honors in the200-medley relay, 100 backstroke, 100 freestyle, and 400-freestylerelay. Nicholson competed in the freestyle and backstrokeevents for the Eagles during the season, earning 134.75 points, the13th-best total by an Eagle.
Junior (2005-06):
Nicholson, a junior, earned two All-America certificates thisseason with her second place finish in the 200-yard medley relayand her third place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. She also earned one All-America Honorable Mention honor. Nicholson also earned the title of Conference Champion this seasonwith her win in the 400-yard freestyle relay at the ConferenceChampionships
Sophomore (2004-05):
At the national championships, Nicholson swam on the All-America200- and 400-yard freestyle relays. The sophomore was a member ofthe conference champion 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard medleyrelays and swam a leg on the second-place 400-yard medley relayteam. Nicholson was named the national Swimmer of the Week byCollegeSwimming.com on October 27, 2004, for her performance theprevious week. Nicholson was third on the team out of 39competitors in points scored in dual and championship meets.
Freshman (2003-04):
Nicholson was a member of the sixth-place 200-yard freestylerelay at the national championships where she earned her firstAll-America honor. The freshman also received All-America honorablemention recognition for placing 15th in the 100-yard backstroke.Nicholson was a member of the conference champion 200- and 400-yardfreestyle relays. She was fourth on the team out of 35 competitorsin points scored in dual and championship meets.
