Prior to Emory:

Swam for the Sequoia High School team for four seasons, serving as the team captain during her junior and senior years... Named her school's Female Athlete of the Year in 2011... Swam career-best times of 1:05.8 in the 100-yard breaststroke, 5:03 in the 500-yard freestyle, and 2:21 in the 200-yard breaststroke... Helped her team to the PAL League Championship in 2009... Was coached by Dave Knochenhauer... Also played water polo in high school.

Personal:

Born April 18, 1993... Was a summer league swim coach for Peninsula Covenant Aquatics... Two-time academic all-American in high school.
