Senior (2013):
Romero started all 18 games she played in during her seniorcampaign, finishing third on the team with five assists, and addingon three goals for a total of 11 points. One of her threescores during the year was a game winner, the ‘goldengoal’ during Emory’s 2-1 double-overtime victory atMassachusetts – Boston on September 2nd. Theforward assisted on game-winning scores against both Lynchburg(ranked fourth in the nation at the time) and Carnegie Mellon(ranked 23rd at the time). Romero recorded threepoints (a goal and an assist) on three different occasions duringthe campaign – against Massachusetts-Boston, Lynchburg andRhodes. She totaled 26 shots, half of which were on goal,during her 1,049 minutes of action in 2013. Romeroended her Emory career with 14 goals and 15 assists for 43 points,and her 81 career games played tie her for the fourth-most in theprogram’s history.
Junior (2012):
Romero emerged as a top offensive threat for the Eagles duringthe 2012 season, leading the team with eight goals and 20 points,while also assisting on four goals during the year, all career-bestmarks. For her efforts, she was named to the National SoccerCoaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-South Atlantic RegionThird Team. In addition, the forward was a First TeamAll-University Athletic Association (UAA) selection, afterfinishing second in the conference with four goals and third withnine points in league games. Romero registered a career dayagainst Washington University (Mo.) on October 7th, scoring bothgoals in a 2-2 tie, including the game-tying score with under aminute left in regulation. She also had a pair ofgame-winning goals in conference games, coming against theUniversity of Chicago on September 29th and Case Western ReserveUniversity on October 12th. Romero's third game-winning goalof the year came during the Eagles' opening game of the NCAATournament, helping the team to a 2-0 win over DePauw University. She was named the UAA Athlete of the Week on September 17th,after scoring a goal and assisted on three others against theUniversity of the South. Romero has scored 11 goals andassisted on 10 other for 32 points during her career, and her fivegame-winning goals are tied for the 19th-most in the program'shistory.
Sophomore (2011):
Romero played in 18 games during the season, making 12starts. She scored one goal during the season, coming againstMaryville College on September 18th, and assisted on twoothers. Both of her assists came during the Eagles' 2-0 winover Centre College during the second round of the NCAA Tournament,including one on the game-winning goal. Romero took 15 shotsduring the season, seven of which were on goal.
Freshman (2010):
Romero came off the bench in all 22 Emory games during the 2010season, finishing the campaign with two goals and four assists foreight points. Both of her goals during the year were gamewinners, coming during the team's 2-1 victory over BridgewaterCollege on September 11th, and the 2-0 win over Berry College onOctober 23rd. Romero also assisted on the game-winning goalduring the Eagles' 2-0 win over Brandeis University on October17th. She took 31 shots during the season, 15 of which wereon goal.
