Biography

Senior (2014):

Despite being limited by injury her senior season, Dohertyplayed in 13 games and made seven starts for Emory in 2014, whileserving as the team’s co-captain.  Her lone point on theyear came on an assist on the ‘golden goal’ in theteam’s 1-0 double-overtime win at Centre College on September28th.  The midfielder finished the year with sixshots, three of which were on goal.  For her career, Dohertyappeared in 65 games and made 17 starts, collecting three goals andeight assists for 14 points.

Junior (2013):

Doherty saw action in all 21 of Emory’s games during herjunior season, recording career highs with two goals, four assistsand eight points.  She registered a career-high four points (agoal and two assists) during Emory’s NCAA Tournament matchagainst Piedmont, including an assist on the game-winninggoal.  Doherty recorded the first game-winning goal of hercareer against Centre on September 29th.  Thecenter midfielder added assists during the year against Rhodes onSeptember 28th and Agnes Scott on October23rd.  Doherty started eight of Emory’s final10 games of the year, and Emory won eight of the career-high ninegames she started during the season.  She totaled 29 shots in2013, 16 of which were on goal.

Sophomore(2012):

Doherty finished the 2012 season with one goal and threeassists, and was one of 12 Eagles to appear in all 24 games duringthe year, matching the school record for games played in a singleseason.  She scored her first collegiate goal on September15th, during the Eagles' 9-0 win over the University of the South. In the round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament, Doherty assistedon the game-winning goal, helping the Eagles to a 2-1 win overLoras College.  She also had assists in back-to-back gamesagainst Birmingham-Southern College on September 21st, and BerryCollege on September 23rd.  Doherty ended the year with 22shots, including seven on goal.

Freshman (2011):

Doherty appeared in seven games for Emory during her inauguralcampaign with the team.  She started one game, the Eagles'season-opening 4-0 win at Chapman University.  The midfieldertook a season-high three shots against Agnes Scott College onSeptember 28th, two of which were on goal.  Doherty finishedthe year with four shots, including two on goal.

Played on the Langley High School soccer team for four seasons,serving as the team captain during her junior and senior seasons...Named to the All-Liberty District Second Team, in addition towinning the Liberty District Merit Award and being named her team'sMost Valuable Player... Coached by Ken Savietevre... Played clubsoccer for FC Virginia Explosion, where she was coached by TerryFoley... Also played basketball in high school.
