Biography

Freshman (2007):

Van Pelt was a key reserve for the Eagles' defense during herfreshman campaign.  She played in 15 games, making four startsduring the year, including three in University Athletic Association(UAA) games.  She helped an Emory defense that recorded 13shutouts and a 0.48 goals against average for the season, the11th-best mark in the country.  Van Pelt helped Emory holdtheir opponents to just over three shots on goal per match, andoutscore teams 47-10 during the season.  She had one assistduring the year, coming on the game-winning goal during the Eagles'NCAA Tournament win over Hardin-Simmons University (Texas).

Played for four seasons on the Saint Andrew's School Women's SoccerTeam, serving as the captain during her junior and seniorseasons... Named to the Palm Beach County All-Star Team in 2007,and led her team to the state championship during the season... Wasa News Channel 5 Athlete of the Week during the 2007 season... Wasnamed to the All-Palm Beach County Team in 2005, 2006 and 2007...Was the Most Valuable Player in 2006... Coached by Stacy Dent inhigh school... Played for the Team Boca club team, where she wascoached by Steve Nugent... Also played varsity volleyball in highschool.
