Biography

Freshman (2013):

Matis played in 15 games for the Eagles during her freshmancampaign.  She made the first start of her career against thenfourth-ranked Lynchburg on September 15th, playing 78minutes in the game and helping the Eagles to a 3-1 victory. The forward recorded an assist (her first-career point) during theEagles’ 8-0 win over Agnes Scott on October23rd.  Matis finished the season with 23 shots,including 10 on goal, during her 531 minutes of action in 2013.

Prior to Emory:

Was a four-year member of the Fairfield Ludlowe High Schoolgirls soccer team, serving as the team captain during her senioryear... Was named to the all-FCIAE Second Team from 2012-13, and anhonorable mention from 2011-12... Led her high school team with 17goals and nine assists... Coached by Kate Dawson in high school...Played club soccer for the Yankee United Blaze, where she wascoached by Nicki Pereira... Helped her club team achieve thetop-ranking in Connecticut for three years, in addition to rankingninth in Region 1 and 34th in the Nation.

Personal:

Born September 14th... Member of the National Honor Society, andthe Math and Science National Honor Societies in high school.
