Biography

Senior (2014):

Butker claimed the third all-University Athletic Associationhonor of her career during her season campaign, claiming a spot onthe all-conference second team for the second-straightseason.  She finished the year with four goals and fourassists for 12 points, and her three game-winning goals during theyear were tied for the most by an Eagle in 2014.  She startedall 17 games she played in, and totaled 32 shots, 20 of which wereon goal.  The forward scored both goals during theEagles’ 2-0 win at Birmingham-Southern College on October28th.  Her other two game-winning scores came inback-to-back wins against the University of the South on September14th, and Berry College on September20th.  Butker assisted on the game-winning goalduring the Eagles’ 3-0 win over Transylvania University onSeptember 27th, and her nine career game-winning assistsare the second-most ever by an Eagle.  She also had assists inconference play against Washington University (Mo.) and theUniversity of Chicago.  Butker ended her Emory career rankedsecond in school history with 26 assists, 11th with 64points and tied for 15th with 19 goals.  She wasalso tied for fourth in the program’s record book with 81games played and sixth with 73 starts.

Junior (2013):

Butker was named to the all-University Athletic Association(UAA) Second Team during her junior campaign, marking hersecond-straight season with all-conference recognition.  Shewas the only player to start each of the Eagles’ 21 gamesduring the year, finishing second on the squad with five goals, sixassists and 16 total points.  Two of her goals were of thegame-winning variety, coming against Piedmont in the NCAATournament and Rhodes on September 28th.  Butkeralso assisted on a team-best three game-winning goals, coming ingames against Berry on September 22nd, Brandeis onOctober 20th and Carnegie Mellon on November9th.  In UAA matches, she ranked second among allconference players with three assists, and sixth with fivepoints.  The forward registered two goals against both Rhodesand Piedmont, and totaled seven points during a three-game stretchfrom November 9th – 17th, two of whichwere NCAA Tournament matches.  Butker totaled 48 shots and 21shots on goal during the season, each the second-highest marks byan Eagle in 2013.  At the end of her junior season, Butkerranks sixth in school history with 22 career assists (nine behindthe school record), 16th with 52 career points, and tiedfor second with eight career game-winning assists (three shy of theschool record).  

Sophomore (2012):

Butker was a key playmaker for the Emory offense during hersophomore season, leading all Eagles with 10 assists and 20 pointsduring the year.  Her assist total during the year was tiedfor the fourth-best in the program's history, and just two shy ofthe single-season record, in addition to ranking 42nd amongDivision III players in 2012.  Butker also ended the yearranked 101st in the country with 0.43 assists per game.  Sheadded five goals of her own during the year, finishing tied forninth in the University Athletic Association (UAA) in points, andtied for first in the conference in total assists.  Starting21 of the 23 games she played in during the season, Butkerregistered a pair of game-winning goals, including one in Emory'sNCAA Tournament Second Round victory over Centre College.  Herfirst career multiple goal game came on September 21st during a 6-0win over Birmingham-Southern College, as the forward scored twogoals (including the game winner) and assisted on two others forsix points.  Butker recorded an assist in three-straight gamesfrom September 15th - 21st, tied for the third-longest streak inthe program's history, and at least one point in six-straightcontests from September 15th - October 3rd, the second longeststreak ever by an Eagle.  Butker was named the UAA Athlete ofthe Week on September 24th after scoring three goals and twoassists over a pair of games during the week.  She led allEagles with three game-winning assists during the year, comingagainst the University of Chicago on September 29th, Agnes ScottCollege on October 3rd, and Covenant College on October 22nd. The game-winning assist against Chicago was part of aseason-high two assist effort for Butker, helping the Eagles to a2-1 win over their conference opponent.  She took 53 shotsduring the season, 23 of which were on goal.  Through herfirst two seasons, Butker has collected 16 assists, and is on paceto break the school record of 31 assists, currently held by formerEagle Sylvia Ghani (1994-97).  She has added 10 goals over her43-game career, good for a total of 36 points.

Freshman (2011):

Butker started her Emory career on a strong note, earning anhonorable mention to the all-University Athletic Association (UAA)team during her freshman campaign.  She finished the year tiedfor the team lead with six assists, third on the squad with 16points, and fifth with five goals.  Her assist total was thesixth-highest among freshmen in the program's history, while herpoints rank her 19th among freshmen in team history.  Butkerassisted on game-winning goals against Roanoke College on September10th and Agnes Scott College on September 28th.  Her threegoals in conference play ranked her fourth among all UAAplayers, and she was tied for fifth with six points. Butker recorded a career-high four points (a goal and two assists)against Agnes Scott College on September 28th, en route to a 6-0Emory win.  Her goal 45 seconds in the Eagles' game againstthe University of Chicago on October 1st was the fifth-fastest goalscored by an Eagle in the program's history.  Butkerappeared in all 20 games for Emory, making 14 starts and taking 45shots, including a team-high 27 shots on goal.

Played on the Westminster Schools soccer team for four seasons,serving as the team captain during her senior campaign... Earnedspots on the Georgia High School All-Star Team, the All-NorthsideArea First Team and All-Region First Team, in addition to beingnamed the 2A Girl's Soccer Student Athlete of the Year in 2011...Also won the Golden Boot Award, the Most Outstanding Female AthleteAward, and the Clare Haverty Ridley Memorial Award for outstandingscholarship, leadership and moral character from Westminster...Presented with the Vincent J. Dooley Award her senior year... Namedthe Northside Area Player of the Year and placed on the all-AreaFirst Team in 2010, in addition to receiving her school's GoldenBoot Award... Scored 21 goals during her junior season, and 24during her senior year... Coached by Clark Meyer in high school...Also played club soccer for the Atlanta Spurs FC, where shewas coached by Ted MacDougall and served as the team captain forsix seasons... Played basketball and ran cross country forWestminster in high school as well.

Personal:

Born April 3, 1993... Member of the National Honor Society andSpanish Honor Society in high school... Brother, Harrison, is thestarting kicker for the Georgia Tech Football Team.
