Prior to Emory:
Competed on the Clinton Senior High School track and field team for one season... Recorded career-best marks of 25.8 seconds in the 200m Dash, 43 seconds in the 300m Dash, 56 seconds in the 400m Dash, and 5' 6" in the high jump... Helped his team to a second-place finish in the Division I Sectional Championships... Was coached by Norm Deep... Also played basketball, football and lacrosse in high school.
