Prior to Emory:
Was a member of the East Ridge swim team, serving as a team captain as a junior and senior...Won the 200 IM at Minnesota State High School Coaches Association Boys AA True Team State Championship and placed 2nd in the 100 Fly as a senior...As a junior he posted lifetime best times in the 200 back, 200 fly, and 200 free at Sectionals in North Dakota and added PRs in the 100 back and 100 fly at the MSHSL Boys AA State Championships...Helped East Ridge to a third place team finish at the state championships...Member of the National Honor Society.
