Emory University student-athletes Zimo Li and Visnja Gusavac were named University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week for September 14-20 as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Li lifted the women's golf team to the conference championship in Batavia, Ohio on September 15th and was tabbed as the tournament's MVP yesterday afternoon. She went 3-0-0 during the three rounds of match play, delivering a 5&4 decision over WashU's Jessy Young, a 3&2 victory over NYU's Shih Ting Tan, and a 4&3 win over Carnegie Mellon's Alyssa Lim.
Gusavac went unbeaten in her Emory women's tennis debut as the Eagles competed in a rain-shortened North Georgia Fall Invitational this past weekend in Dahlonega. Gusavac teamed with Holyn Karp to win the doubles A flight with three victories and added a 2-0 record in singles as she advanced to the finals of the top draw.
