Three Emory University student-athletes were chosen as University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of April 13-19.
Junior Kevin Mu was the individual title winner at the Discover Dekalb Emory Invitational over the weekend, shooting a 208 (-8) over three rounds to win by six strokes. The junior also sank the team title-winning birdie putt on the final, helping the Eagles secure the team title by one stroke to win their home event over Sewanee. He shot eight birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey in the final round to secure the individual and team win.Â
Freshman Xinyi Zheng captured the individual title at the Deb Jackson Invitational over the weekend, shooting a 141 (-1) over two rounds to win her third individual title this season. She also shot her personal best tournament round on Saturday, shooting a 66 (-5) in round one.Â
Sophomore Ari Klasky had an incredible weekend at the Mount Laurel Open, winning two of his three events as he secured first place in the shot put and discus. He threw for 16.33m in the shot put and 48.19m in discus to secure the wins while also throwing for 45.08m in the hammer throw to take second place.Â
