Two Emory University student-athletes were chosen as University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week for the performances during the week of April 6-12
Junior Sebastian Kou won the men's 400m hurdles event at the Berry College Field Day over the weekend with a time of 53.72 seconds to earn a new personal record. With this new mark, Kou now leads the UAA in the event and ranks 19th in Division III.Â
In softball. Freshman Sydney Thune had an excellent weekend in the circle, going 5.1 innings with no runs on one hit and two strikeouts in game one of Emory's series against Chicago. In the third game of the series, the rookie was dominant in relief as she went for 4.1 innings with no runs on two hits and five strikeouts to help the Eagles clinch the series sweep to earn their tenth conference win and 20th overall win of the season.Â
