Emory University swimmers Henri Bonnault and Emma Lunn swept the University Athletic Association Swimmer of the Week awards for their performances during the week of January 26-February 1. It is the second weekly honor for Bonnault in his career while this marks Lunn's first as a member of the Eagles.
Bonnault collected two individual wins as well as two relay wins to lead the Emory men to a 1-1 dual meet record against Centre and University of Georgia. Last Wednesday, Bonnault was an individual event winner in the 100 Breaststroke (55.61) and was part of the winning relay teams in the 200 Mixed Medley (1:36.80) and 400 Freestyle (3:08.74). Then on Saturday, Bonnault took part in four events against UGA, earning one of the Eagles' two event wins at the meet with his performance in the 100 Breaststroke (54.28) and was third in the 200 Breaststroke (2:03.58). He added his talents to a pair of relays as well, helping Emory's A team finish second at 1:27.22 in the 200 Medley and was part of Emory's C team in the 200 Freestyle that finished seventh at 1:23.94.
Lunn was a standout for the women's swimming & diving team as the Eagles also went 1-1 against Centre and Georgia. On Wednesday, Lunn was a two-time event winner as she touched first in the 200 Freestyle (1:52.92) and 500 Freestyle (5:08.56) and was part of helping Emory's C team finish third in the 200 Mixed Medley Relay (1:38.40). Then against the Bulldogs, Lunn was third in the 200 Backstroke (1:59.16), seventh in the 100 Backstroke (56.27), and was part of Emory's C team in the 200 Freestyle Relay that finished fifth at 1:37.28.
Next up for the Eagles will be the UAA Championships in Chicago from February 11-14.
