A total of 30 members of the Emory University track & field teams were recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Monday afternoon for both their academic and athletic pedigree as they were named to the All-Academic Teams by the organization.
Graduate student Nikki Boon headlined the selections as she earned top academic honors with her announcement as the Women's Outdoor Field Scholar Athlete of the Year. The honor comes on the heels of Boon's selections as the College Sports Communicators' Division III Women's Cross Country/Track & Field Academic All-America Team Member of the Year last week.
To earn All-Academic Athlete status by the USTFCCCA, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale; and must meet one of the following criteria:Â finished the indoor season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 50, but who participated at the Indoor or Outdoor National Championships, are eligible; competed as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams as listed on the indoor descending order list on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 35 relay teams, but who participated in the relay at the Indoor or Outdoor National Championships, are eligible.; any competing relay team member on an expanded descending order list to include 35 institutions (1 relay team per institution) is eligible. For programs, teams must be at least a combined 3.1 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Earning All-Academic Athlete honors for the women were Kaya Binetti, Nikki Boon, Eva Carchidi, Sarah Fineman, Amaya Grant, Caroline Hansen, Jeanette Hydukovich, Audrey Johnson, Davis Johnson, Jada Kenner, Luna McCauley, Hannah Riley, Liesl Scherrer, Dashiel Tao Harris and Madison Tiaffay.
For the men, these Eagles secured All-Academic Athlete status: Henry Brandstadter, Caleb Bunch, Marcus Cheema, Dawit Dean, Steven Ditelberg, Theodore Drye, Sam Gouvalaris, Joshua Han, Ethan Lu, Scott Masterson, Ryan McGonigle, Jonathan Orelowitz, Jackson Price, Sam Ryba and Spencer Watry.
The women's team posted a 3.70 GPA while the men came in at 3.68 for the 2024-25 season.
