Following the conclusion of the winter season, Learfield in conjunction with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) has released the next set of team standings in the 2024-25 Directors' Cup race.
With five teams qualifying for the postseason and four programs finishing inside the top 10 of their respective sports, the Emory University Eagles have moved into third place after standing fifth following the Fall calendar. The Eagles are one of three University Athletic Association institutions inside the top five out of 279 Division III schools with at least one point scored.
In the winter, Emory recorded 359.50 points to improve upon its total of 303 points from the Fall. With 662.50 secured through two seasons, the Eagles trail only Johns Hopkins University (865.0) and New York University (727.0) in the team standings.
Men's Swimming & Diving headlined the Eagles with a national runner-up performance to notch 90 points. Men's Basketball, which reached the Elite Eight for the second time in program history, registered 73 points, as did women's swimming & diving as they placed fifth at the NCAA Championships. Women's indoor track & field came through with 69 points with its ninth-place finish at nationals and men's indoor track & field scored 52.5 after finishing 20th at the NCAA Championships.
All eight UAA members are ranked in the top half of Division III schools with five schools situated inside the top 13. Emory and NYU are joined by WashU (627.0) inside the top 5.
The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today with points being awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.  Overall, 18 sports are counted in the final DIII standings, four of which must be men's and women's soccer and men's and women's basketball. The next highest (14 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.
The final edition of the Directors' Cup standings are set to be released on June 10th.
