Emory University's swimming and diving teams went on the road this weekend to take on Sewanee, with the men's team defeating the Tigers 182-99 and the women's squad winning 181-103. The Eagles took wins in 31Â of the 32 events in the meet.
On the women's side, sophomore
Elodie Mitchell dominated her races with two individual wins for the Eagles. She took her first win and secured a new season best in the 200 Free, winning by nearly five seconds with her time of 1:56.36. The sophomore's second win came in the 100 Fly, where she won by about a second clocking in a time of 57.66.
Junior
Emma Lunn was also a standout for the Eagles as she took wins in the 100 and 1000 Freestyles. She took the 1000 Free and earned a season-best mark with her time of 10:33.69 to win by an almost 54-second margin. She secured the 100 Free win as well with her time of 54.01.
Freshman
Lauren Opitz also won her first events as an Eagle, taking wins in the 200 Fly and 200 Back. She won the 200 Fly by nearly two seconds, clocking in at 2:09.37 to secure the win. In the 200 Back, Opitz took the win with her time of 2:10.78.
Fellow freshman
Allison Greeneway also was a standout with her win in the 100 Breast, clocking in at 1:04.75.
To go along with those wins, the women's squad picked up four additional individual wins on the day in the 500 free, 200 Breast, 50 Free and 100 Back. The squad also picked up a team win in the 200 Medley Relay, with

Stephanie Lee,
Amelia Amadio and Opitz taking the win for the Eagles with their time of 1:49.05 and beating the NCAA B-cut time.
On the men's side, freshman
Carson Kalish picked up wins for the Eagles in the 100 Breast and 1000 Free. In the 100 Breast, Kalish won with a time of 27.42 and he took the distance free with a time of 9:39.38.
Fellow freshman
Zachary Spicer also picked up two individual wins, taking the 200 Back and the 200 Free. In the 200 Free, he narrowly beat out teammate
Ben Pritchard, winning by .12 seconds at 1:18.60. In the 200 Back, the freshman won by about two seconds, clocking in at 1:53.79 to secure the win.
Graduate Student
Jared Zhang also secured an individual win and a season-best in the 50 free with his time of 21.01.
The men also picked up five other individual wins on the day, securing wins in the 100 Back, 200 Fly, 200 Breast, 500 Free and 100 Fly. The squad also took a team win in the 200 Medley, with Spicer,
Griffin Barlow,
Connor McHugh and Zhang securing the win for the Eagles.
For diving events,
Ariana Khan and
Solly Berkenwald swept the 1m events for the Eagles as they both secured their first wins of the season. Khan earned 275.63 points across her six dives to earn the win and Berkenwald earned 287.55 points across his six dives. Â
The Eagles will be back in the WoodPEC pool on November 7 for the Emory Fall Invitational meet.
