Nikki Boon Selected as 2025 NCAA Woman of the Year Top 30 Honoree

Emory University track and field standout Nikki Boon has been selected a Top 30 honoree for the 2025 NCAA Woman of the Year award as announced by the national organization on Wednesday afternoon.

The prestigious honor comes on the heels of Boon being chosen as one of two University Athletic Association representatives for the award this past August. Boon is one of 10 Division III honorees among the Top 30. From the Top 30, the Woman of the Year selections committee will determine the top three honorees in each division and announce nine finalists. The NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics then will choose the 2025 NCAA Woman of the Year which will be announced later this year.

Boon cemented her legacy as one of the best multi-sport athletes during the 2024-25 season earning two NCAA Championships titles and breaking multiple Division III records. Earlier this year, she competed for the Netherlands as the 2025 Women's Decathlon World Championships and took home the title of "World's Greatest Athlete" with her win at the event.

During the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, Boon captured the pentathlon title and set a Division III record after becoming the first woman to surpass 4,000 points in the event. She later took home another NCAA Championship, this one coming in the heptathlon at the 2025 outdoor meet. Boon was named the 2024 and 2025 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) South/Southeast Region Field Athlete of the Year for both the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Away from the competition, Boon has been working towards a PhD in Neuroscience while also acting as a teaching assistant for the Neuroscience department, a professional development panel speaker and a guest lecturer for Emory undergraduates.
