Senior Ben Pearce averaged 26.0 points per game to lead the Emory Eagles to a pair of NCAA tournament wins during the opening weekend. Pearce dropped 23 points on Friday in the team's 87-73 win over MUW before going for 29 points in the Eagles' 83-81 overtime win over Roanoke to advance to the Sweet 16. Pearce added 13 assists in the two wins, including eight on Saturday against the Maroons, and had the game-winning assist on Ethan Fauss' go-ahead three-pointer with 9.6 seconds left in overtime to topple Roanoke.
