Senior Ben Pearce poured in a team-high 23 points as the No. 3 Emory Eagles raced past Piedmont, 98-89, in the season opener on Sunday. Pearce finished 7-for-15 from the field including 3-for-7 from long range and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the FT line. Pearce added a team-leading six assists in 38 minutes and grabbed one rebound.
