Junior Emily Kantrovitz advanced to the national semifinals of the singles draw and helped the Eagles to a semifinal appearance in the team bracket this past week in Claremont, CA. Kantrovitz secured the clinching point with her three-set decision in the quarterfinals over Bowdoin, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2, to send Emory back to the semifinals. In the singles draw, Kantrovitz collected three consecutive straight set wins over opponents from Middlebury, Skidmore and Kenyon to reach the semifinals before bowing out against the draw's No. 8 seed from CMS in straight sets. It was the first semifinal appearances in the singles championships for Kantrovitz in her career.
