Junior Josh Zuckerman toed the slab in Emory's series opener with Piedmont and was effective in his six innings of work. Zuckerman punched out six batters and surrendered just three hits in the start. Yet, he was on the wrong side of a pitcher's duel after a third-inning solo homerun from the Lions was the deciding factor in the Lions' 1-0 win over Emory.
