The Emory University women's tennis team picked up a pair of 8-1 victories to open its spring break trip in Orlando, FL, defeating the 33rd-ranked Division II squad, Grand Valley State University, on Sunday, and the College of New Jersey, ranked 22nd in Division III, on Monday.

During Sunday's match against Grand Valley State, the Eagles took a 2-1 lead after the doubles contests, with wins from their second doubles pairing of Sabra Rogers and Tshema Nash and their third doubles team of Jordan Wylie and Lindsay Reidenbach.  Emory would go on to win all six of the singles matches, including five of the six in straight sets.

On Monday against the College of New Jersey, the Eagles would sweep the doubles contests to take a 3-0 lead.  Emory would win each of the first five singles matches in straight sets, including a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles for Zahra Dawson.

Emory has now won six matches in a row, and ten of its last 11 contests, to improve to 10-2 on the season.  The Eagles also remained undefeated against Division III opponents, standing at 8-0 this season.  Grand Valley State dropped to 13-6 with the loss, while Emory handed the College of New Jersey its first loss of the season, placing the Yellowjackets at 7-1 for the campaign.

Emory will finish its Orlando trip on Wednesday, as the Eagles will play a doubleheader against Coe College and the University of Rochester, starting at 12:30 PM.
