Senior Ashley Oldshue averaged a team-high 16.7 points and a squad-best 8.0 rebounds in helping the Emory women's basketball team to a 2-1 record in its first three games of the year.
Oldshue paced the Eagles in scoring in all three games, including both contests at Guilford College's Daly 7 Classic. She totaled 13 points in 18 minutes of play, sinking four-of-six field goals and all five of her free throw attempts, in a 64-37 decision over Virginia Wesleyan. Against host Guilford, Oldshue chalked up game highs with 22 points and nine boards as the Eagles prevailed, 67-45. She was successful on 10-of-14 field goals and two-of-three from the stripe against the Quakers, helping her secure Classic MVP honors, ending those two games with a scoring average of 17.5 points to go along with a 70 percent (14-of-20) mark from the floor.
