35 members of the Emory University Swimming and Diving programs will be making the trip to Greensboro, North Carolina for the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships. This year’s edition of the national meet will run from Wednesday, March 20th through Saturday, March 23rd at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The Old Dominion Athletic Conference will be serving as the host organization for the meet.
The Eagles will look to add more gold to the banners hanging inside the Madeleine Jude Brown Aquatic Center later this week as the Emory Women will try to push their national reign to a decade straight as the team has captured nine straight national team titles and 11 overall. The Men’s team enters as the national runners-up and were the DIII national champions in 2017, the first-ever in the program’s history.
The Eagles on the women’s side are set to send the max slate of 18 swimmers to Greensboro. Swimmers invited to the meet include seniors Hannah Baratz, Ashley Daniels, Julia Durmer, Hannah Lally, Fiona Muir, Meg Taylor, juniors Maria Kyle, Caroline Olson, Maria Turcanu, sophomores Lucy Daro, Lara Gemar, Bethany Seagraves and freshmen Edie Bates, Allie Dixon, Gaige Elms, Clio Hancock, Josie Uerling and Zoe Walker.
For the men, the Eagles earned 16 invitations with seniors Zachary Chen, Thomas Gordon, Alex Kohlman, Trey Kolleck, Matt Rogers, junior Sage Ono, sophomore Kellen Stillman, freshmen Jason Hamilton, Colin LaFave, Hwa Min Sim, Zach Lorson, Will O’Daffer, Pat Pema, Lawrence Redmond, Tyler Russell and diver Lucas Bumgarner making the cut.
Preliminaries are set to begin at 10:00 AM every morning with the finals to follow in the evening at 6:00 PM EST.
