Senior setter Mady Arles was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA-DIII Volleyball Championships after helping the Eagles to the national title, the school's second-ever national crown.
Arles averaged 10.8 assists, 1.7 digs and 0.60 blocks over 10 sets of action as Emory defeated No. 25 Ithaca in the quarterfinals, No. 6 Juniata in the semifinals and No. 1 Calvin in the title match. In addition, she closed out the Championships hitting .357 (11-1--28) while doling out five service aces.
Arles registered 44 assists, her 11th outing of 40 or more assists this year, in the 3-1 verdict over Ithaca and chipped in four terminations and nine digs. Her precision-like setting helped Emory hit a blistering .364 (46-10--99) in the championship encounter against Calvin, ending that affair with 35 assists to go along with five kills, three aces and five digs.
Emory closed out the season with an overall record of 30-6.
