Junior middle Sydney Leimbach played a key role both offensively and defensively in helping the No. 5-ranked Eagles' volleyball team to a 4-0 record at the Emory Classic.
The 6-foot-2 Leimbach captured all-tournament honors after averaging a team-high 1.09 blocks and 2.91 kills over 11 sets of action as No. 5 Emory raised its overall record to 6-1. In a 3-0 decision over Chapman University, Leimbach topped all players with five (2-3) total blocks while contributing nine terminations and an attack percentage of .429 (9-3--14). She followed that performance with a match-high tying four (0-4) blocks, while totaling seven kills, in a 3-0 outcome vs. Millsaps.
Through matches played Sept. 9, Sydney ranks sixth among UAA players in blocks average (0.88 bps) and second in attack percentage (.407).
