Emory University senior Bridget Harding and freshman Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico were named the University Athletic Association Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. It is the 11th career weekly honor for Harding and the second for Gonzalez-Rico.
As the only Division III players in the main singles draw at the Mercer Gridiron Classic, Harding and Gonzalez-Rico impressed as the pair advanced to the finals, winning every match via straight sets. The duo added a 2-1 record in doubles play, defeating a team from Middle Georgia and Jacksonville State in the consolation rounds.
Harding and Gonzalez-Rico return to action this week with the 2017 ITA Oracle Cup from October 12th – 15th in Rome, GA.
